We want to recognize the 2023-2024 UCHS Soccer Coaching Team. By way of introduction, we asked both Coach D and Coach Profitt to tell us a little bit about themselves.
Dalanda Ouendeno (Coach D)
UCHS Girls Soccer Coach
From Paris, France
I started playing soccer with boys at 5 years old.
Played for Paris Saint Germain for 7 years
I became a 5-time state champion, Gothia Youth World Cup Champion, and France U19 Vice Champion/runner-up.
I graduated at 17 years old from a private Christian high school in Paris and was offered a full scholarship to play for West Virginia University and became a 2-time Big XII champion and NCAA D1 vice-champion/runner-up (finalist) and we were the number one team in the country for 5 weeks.
Transferred to the University of Miami and played in the ACC. Graduated from the University of Miami in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Economics with two minors in Sports Medicine and Interactive Media. I took classes like Sports Psychology, Athletic and Sports Injuries, Athletic Injuries and Sport First Aid, Functional Human Anatomy, and Biological Basis for Physical Activity and Health.
Moved to Charlotte and became a NASCAR pit crewmember, worked the Daytona 500 twice, and currently working for Trackhouse Racing (development team), JD Motorsports in the Xfinity Series, and RB racing in the truck series on the weekend.
Graduated in 2022 with my Master of Science in Economics.
Coached soccer for the PSG academy in Florida, West Virginia University and University of Miami camps, and the PSG youth girls team in France.
Coach Profitt
My name is Russell Profitt. I am the Director of Soccer and Men’s Head Soccer Coach at University Christian. I was born in Mesa, Arizona, and currently reside in Newton with my wife, children, and cats. I served in the Marine Corps for eight years. I have degrees in Accounting, Time & Motion Studies, and Computer Science. Along with coaching for University Christian, I work in IT full-time at a company in Statesville, North Carolina.
Soccer has been a huge part of my life, as I played soccer myself and have had the privilege to coach for the past 18 years for the following organizations….South Iredell Soccer Association, Lake Norman Soccer Club, Charlotte Independence Soccer Club, Mill Creek Middle School, and Challenger Early College High School, before moving to University Christian.
I am extremely passionate about soccer, which has become my ministry. After giving my life to Christ in my twenties, I have watched God do amazing things in my life and find myself following him more every day. I know that God has led me to be a part of the University Christian family…there is an awesome story in that. I have fallen in love with the school, the students, and the staff. This is truly a special place. It is my goal to help build not just a soccer program but a strong Christ-centered soccer and athletic program here at University Christian. It is my honor to be here and coach these young men and women.
